Boswellia Herb Helps Arthritis

Here’s an interesting study on an amazing joint herb called Boswellia that helps arthritis as reported in Top News.

Research from Cardiff University confirms that Boswellia ( also called Frankincense) helps both osteoarthritis and inflammatory arthritis.

The answer to treating painful arthritis could lie in an age old herbal remedy – frankincense, according to Cardiff University research.

“The search for new ways of relieving inflammatory arthritis and osteoarthritis symptoms is a long and difficult one,” according to Dr Emma Blain, who leads the research with Professor Vic Duance and Dr Ahmed Ali.

The Cardiff scientists believe they have been able to demonstrate that treatment with an extract of Boswellia frereana – a rare frankincense species – inhibits the production of key inflammatory molecules which helps prevent the breakdown of the cartilage tissue which causes the arthritis.

Dr. Paul’s Comments: Boswellia is an excellent natural anti-inflammatory without the side effects of NSAIDS ( non-steriodal anti=inflammatory drugs) and cartilage destroying cortisone shots.

Recommended take 300 to 900 milligrams of boswellia a day  in divided doses standard extract with 60 to 65 percent boswellic acid
