My 77 Year Old Father Cured His Knee Problems with... Biking!

My 77 year old father complained he was having knee problems with pain and stiffness after playing 2 1/2 hours of singles tennis. This is not your normal 77 year old. This fit, slim senior plays 2 1/2 hours of tennis everyday, has been doing cardio training for over 50 years (running before running shoes were even invented), and his resting heart rate is 35 just like Lance Armstrong.
I diagnosed him with Pre- Arthirtis ( also called PFS, Patellar Femoral Syndrome and Chondromalacia) or early knee arthritis.
In the meantime for knee treatment, I recommended he bike for 1/2 hour after playing. He was to bike without any resistance and just spin the pedals at about 100 rpm.
